Delta Airlines’ pet allows passengers to travel with certain pets in the cabin. However, it does not accept pets as checked or cargo baggage. Pet reservations can be made by phone or online, preferably in advance, to ensure there’s space for your pet.

In-cabin pets 
On U.S. flights—and international flights from/to Mexico and the Dominican Republic—only domesticated cats, dogs, hamsters, small household birds, rabbits, and guinea pigs are accepted.
On international flights, only domesticated dogs and cats are accepted. 
Pet Fee. A one-way pet fee of USD 99 is charged for domestic flights, payable at the time of booking or check-in. The pet fee for international flights is route-based.
Cats and dogs must be at least 4 months old. 
Only trained service dogs can travel free of charge in the cabin with disabled passengers.
Up to 10 pet containers are allowed on a flight. 
One passenger can carry only 1 pet carrier. 
A pet carrier will count either as your personal carry-on item or carry-on bag. If you’re carrying a pet container in place of your personal item, you will be charged for your carry-on bag (if carrying).
A health certificate (plus proper documentation) is mandatory for pets travelling to/from international destinations. On domestic flights in the Delta States, some states may require a health certificate upon arrival, so check before travelling.
Avoid feeding your pet (food or water) within 4 hours of your flight’s departure.
Restrictions 
Pets are not accepted: 
On codeshare flights.
When travelling in the cabin on flights to Hawaii, Australia, UK, UAE, South Africa, Republic of Ireland, Jamaica, Hong Kong, Dubai, Dakar, and Barbados.
The following pets are never accepted: 
Large birds like macaws, parrots, cockatoos, and birds of prey
Rodents (mice, rats, squirrels), ferrets and, beavers
Reptiles (incl. snakes)
Amphibians
Spiders and insects 
Tigers, lions, or bears
You cannot sit in row #1 or an exit row when traveling with a pet.
Your pet must remain inside the travel container at all times. 
Avoid feeding your pet (food or water) during the flight. 
Do not sedate your pet for the trip.
The pet must be harmless and odorless, and require no attention during the flight.
Delta Airlines Pet Travel Requirements for Domestic Flights
Can you fly with pets on Delta Airlines’ domestic flights? 

Delta Airlines pet travel requirements for domestic flights (and international flights to/from Mexico and the Dominican Republic) are as follows:

In-Cabin Pet Policy for Domestic Flights. Per Delta Airlines’ domestic pet travel policy, pets can only travel in the cabin. Pets will not be accepted as checked baggage or manifest cargo. The list of pets accepted for travel includes cats, dogs, hamsters, small household birds, rabbits, and guinea pigs. 
Carry-on Bag Fee. Passengers travelling with a carry-on bag (in addition to the pet carrier) will be charged. 
Approved Pet Carriers—Domestic Flights
Per Delta Airlines pet carrier policy for domestic flights:
The pet carrier dimensions must not exceed 18in (L) x 14in (W) x 8in (H).
The pet carrier must be spacious enough for your pet to stand, sit, lie down, and turn around in naturally. 
Delta Airlines recommends that the pet carrier be soft-sided.
The pet carrier must meet USDA and IATA requirements
Pet Fee. The one-way pet charge on domestic flights is USD 99 per pet carrier. 
Pet Age. Dogs and cats must be at least 4 months old to travel on Delta.
Pet Reservations. You can make a reservation for your pet at the time of booking (by phone or online) or pay at check-in. 
Forms Required.  A health certificate may not be required when travelling within the Delta States, but it may be required by some states upon arrival. 
Emotional support animals will no longer be accepted free of charge and must travel per Delta Airlines’ pet policy—all restrictions apply.
Trained service animals (dogs) can travel free with their owners in the passenger cabin.
No more than 10 pet carriers will be accepted on a single flight.
Only 1 pet carrier per passenger is allowed.
